How much does a website cost in the UK?
Website prices vary a lot. This guide explains what you are usually paying for, so you can compare quotes fairly.
What usually makes up the price
- Design and build. Someone plans the pages and builds them, once.
- Hosting. A server keeps the site online, usually paid monthly or yearly.
- Domain name. The address, such as yourbusiness.co.uk, usually renewed each year.
- Security and backups. An SSL certificate and copies of the site in case something goes wrong.
- Changes. Updating prices, photos or opening hours after launch.
What affects the price
The number of pages, whether you need custom features such as bookings or online payments, how many photos and text you need written, and how much back-and-forth the project takes all change the cost.
How webpresta.com prices it
A website is £299 one-off (£99 to start, the rest when you are happy), with up to 6 pages, 12 months of hosting, a UK domain, business email, SSL and search setup included. An online shop is from £399. After the first year you only renew hosting, domain and email. Extra pages and custom features are quoted separately. See pricing.
