What to put on your business website
A good small business website answers the questions customers ask before they call. This checklist covers the pages and details most businesses need.
Every site needs
- Your business name, what you do and where you work
- A phone number and email address, clickable on a phone
- Opening hours, including closed days and any holiday changes
- Your main services, written in plain words
- A contact form or clear way to get in touch
- A privacy notice if you collect any personal information through the site
Useful for most businesses
- Prices or "from" prices, kept up to date
- Photos of your work, your team or your premises
- Areas you cover, with town and postcode names
- Reviews from real customers, with their permission
- Frequently asked questions
Be careful with
- Reviews or testimonials you have not been given
- Qualifications, awards or memberships you cannot prove
- Claims about results, speed or savings that you cannot support
- Prices or availability that are out of date
When you use our form, you only need to answer what you know. We will not add facts you have not confirmed.
